what :ray-ray-ray: said.. just one question.. I don't get the shoes! why not use army boots? or smthing similar... if it's the hight then keep the shoes but with a different texture.. they make the pose seem really uncomfortable..
I like the use of what appears to be a sniper's veil or camouflaged netting. Her pose and the knife create a very martial feel, yet this contrasts starkly with her beauty, nudity and boots, to the point of being dichotomous. All of this is whirling around the great magnetism of her eye contact with the viewer. She seems to be saying this means nothing, but there is a deeper secret message somewhere in her eyes or in the absurdity of the whole thing. I love the muted tones and the lighting is just perfect; you have sculpted this beautiful lady in light and shadow.
I'm very much a fan of this series, and your work. You really have a way with female models. Too many photographers now don't know how to take a picture of a nude woman without turning it into something only a thin line away from pornography- But you got it. She's beautiful, and sexy, but not raunchily so. Is a very rare, and wonderful skill to have, and I respect you a lot for it.
I adored the picture of the pregnant woman in this series, so I'm holding you to that standard. ;>
I'm not a fan of the lace- I much preferred the solids in the previous shot (of the pregnant woman)- it competes with the tattoo, and the colors a bit too light, I'd say.
And this is objective I suppose, but as gorgeous as the model is (This isn't a shot at her, of course.) I would have gone with someone more ethnic. The powerful message, the middle eastern woman of war, is rather weakened when the model doesn't match the scene. In IV, you couldn't see her eyes as clearly to discern her ethnicity, which might have been a good way to go here as well.
Beautiful posing- I love the hand on the knife, and the muscles of the back. The knife seems to be perfectly aligned, a lucky catch! Love the lighting for the pose too.
Keep it up! Its always a pleasure to see your work on the front page.
