What I find interesting is that the piece doesn't necessarily have a negative connotation towards Christianity (though many seem to have assumed that it did). I don't claim to know the artist's intent, but any piece that causes us to interpret it in our own way -- and in the process introspect on our own beliefs -- is one that deserves recognition.
